I want to be prepared for pre-med in college && I'm confused about 2nd period organic chemistry vs. AP English

Any advice? Organic chem or an AP class?

whatever one your interested in more...

seriously, once you get to college, it wont matter, just take whatever interests you

AP english. Anything you can do to improve your writing is important. I can't imagine that a HS organic chem class is going to be that informative.

Avoid any classes that are taught through a college.

Why should I avoid any classes that are taught through a college, bluedevilmike?

They'll show up on your medical school application. Not least for that reason, they can cause a lot of difficulties. It's also a no-win situation for you, since it's likely to be at a school that's less familiar to the admissions committee than your eventual school is. Either you do well, in which case they won't care, or you do poorly, which magnifies the failure. Beyond that, you might have to skip the class in college, which means you might have worse course selection when it really counts. Or you might have to retake the course in college, in which case your grades there are in the same kind of no-win scenario, since really you're retaking a course.

Better to take the AP English, which colleges WILL percieve as more rigorous than English 12. And 3 Ap's are better than 2 on your transcript.
