Course Selection, AP's

Course selection at my school is coming up, and i have to select courses for my senior year.
Currently i am one of two ppl taking 3 AP's this year, so i guess i am one-up on ppl, so to speak.

For next year, i was planning either 4 or 5 AP's. The four would be AP Environmental, AP Physics, AP Calc, and AP Psych.
Last year 15/17 kids got 5's on the physics exam. So physics is good at our school, and i like it and am good at it.
Honestly, i havent really written a formal lab write-up yet, and i am planning on going into biology in college. I hear that AP Environmental is a lab oriented class, and i think it would be beneficial to learn how to write a decent lab report.

What i am not sure about is taking AP English. It's not that i am bad at it, but just i dont necessarily enjoy it. I know honors would be a pretty easy A. But from your past experiences, how much work is AP English 12--Literature/Composition? Do you think it would be a lot of added work? Has anybody taken it in conjecture with like a bunch of AP's and had experiences in terms of workload?

Thanks, any advice would be greatly appreciated, i'm a bit confused on what to do.

go ahead.. next year i only have AP classes and honors for which AP classes aren't available

Is there a reason why you aren't taking AP Biology? No offense but from what I have heard AP Enviromental is the kind of downgrade of AP Biology. However I have never taken the class so I couldn't give you an honest answer.

I'm in AP Lit right now and I really enjoy it--but I generally like English classes and have a great teacher.

I'm in 3 APs--EnviSci, Statistics, and Lit.

I love English classes, but I hated AP English Lit. It was incredibly boring. However, I think it was because of the teacher. My advice is to ask about the teacher. If he/she's fun and makes it interesting, go for it! If not, honors English is all you need.

AP Enviro isn't that much lab oriented actually. When I took it last year, there were no set labs we had to do for the course like we do in AP Bio. We did labs but they weren't really the entire wear-goggles-and-write-a-lab kind of deal. Plus, there's a quite a few topics on application of sciences (i.e. alternative sources of energy, wastewater treatment) and science in current affairs/politics (i.e. global warming, ozone depletion, smog, etc). I liked it though.

AP Lit is one of those classes where it really depends on your teacher. My AP Lit teacher is pretty chill, so our class is pretty relaxed (one could even say too relaxed). The readings are okay; we've read three works of Shakespeare, Heart of Darkness, Lord of the Flies, Brave New World, and 1981 so far. The essays are kind of tough for me, but I can't speak for your writing ability. Also, there's a fair amount of poetry on the actual AP test and most people either love it or hate it.

As for the rest of your APs, I'm taking Psych and its pretty fun. A lot of vocab memorization. I thought Calc was also fun, but I just like math. It's also probably the most useful college credit from what I've seen so far. I can't speak about AP Physics, but from what I hear, it's pretty difficult.

I have AP Biology this year.
The cool thing about AP Environmental at my school is that we have one of the largest campuses, because we have our own woods which we do labs in. I know my sister took the course and you do lots of lab reports.
Usually, during course selection time the teachers come to the classes of 11th grade to talk about the course, but they havent yet...so i am not sure about how they are.

From what i hear at my school, you have to read like 10 or 11 books over the summer for AP Lit? Is this true? What have your summer requirements looked like for that course?
