hi. im in a little bit of a dilemna. Im currently in a grade level math class (Alegebra 1) as a freshman. I have always been a year ahead, but i didnt do so great in 8th grade, thus i am retaking it. Should I take geometry in summer school? Ive heard it is a good program, but im not to interested in taking it. I also heard that it can really hurt your SAT score. I got an A+ in Algebra first semester, and will probably get a regular A this semester. I talked to my teacher about it, and she basically said I could take Alegebra 2 with Trig as a Junior. I currently have a 4.1 gpa. I dont really know anything about college, but as of now I would love to go to a school such as UVA or UNC. With that said, where do I stand towards achieving my goal? If I take geometry as a sophomore, and Algebra 2/trig as a junior would I have a good chance of attending one of them (I live in Virginia btw)? Thanks!

I would take a geometry course over the summer. Geometry is a valuable asset and can really help you not only on standardized tests but also in precalc. If you take a course over the summer, you can proceed with your normal projected classes in the fall.
