Course selections for senior year

Would a college for a future science major rather see a senior year schedule that included AP Econ with no histories in the schedule, or instead take ap gov and politics

Pretty much nobody at my school takes history as their only social studies class senior year. The main ones are AP gov and AP Economics. Take whichever one you’d enjoy more.

I don’t think it would matter either way. Good luck deciding!

Both are non-STEM AP classes so it doesnt matter which one you take in regards to your major. Just take the one you think you will enjoy more. Do take at least one of the two though because colleges want to you spread your non-STEM roots lol. However, govt and econ. give students knowledge of the “real world” and I’ve enjoyed learning in them this year. Debates in government are AWESOME and economics is just good to know.

Tons of prospective STEM majors drop social science/humanities altogether their senior year to make room for a science or math - I know quite a few kids who’ve done that and they’ve gotten into excellent schools for their programs (Brown, UChicago, etc.)

Doesn’t matter. What preamble1776 said, if you have want to take more STEM prep classes, do so and drop them, unless if it is required, lol.

If it is required, I would probably take AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics, from the looks of it they have more of a chance applying it to my life’s needed skills, uses, etc. I hope you have at least 2 years of history completed, otherwise, take gov.
