Son is still in the job search, and as he’s perusing more and more openings, all over the country, we’re finding a lot looking for experience with JAVA.

Now, as part of CBH, son learned C++, Fortran, some SQL and others. He’s had Matlab in the past and more recently as part of Differential Equations.

Anyone out there taken a course that involves teaching JAVA? Son would like to fit that into his schedule in the coming semesters as an elective or even just an extra course so he can honestly say on his resume that he has experience in JAVA.

We’ve tried locally. None offering. Thanks for the CS 350 link. We’ll look and see if this can fit in his schedule along the way if he can’t find something online this summer.

Unless the course counts toward his degree, do not bother paying for it. If your son understands software development, he will be able to quickly adapt his skills to any language without needing to spend months doing it. A book and a week is all he will need to learn te language. The real trick is understanding software development and how to solve problems.

The joke was supposed to be mine and Malanai stole it from me. He gets to be Johnny Carson and I’m stuck doing commercials for Publisher’s Clearing House.

No worries joh… err… Malanai. Hope to see you at a game this year. Ole Miss & auburn will be the two home games I’ll be at. The chocolate covered macadamia nuts are not necessary but they were damn good.
