Course Titles & Descriptions

I really didn't know which forum to post this in; sorry if there is a better location.

Anyway, my school recently changed the names of a few classes, even though the actual course itself has remained the same. Basically:

College Algebra is now called Advanced Algebra
Calculus is now called College Algebra
Astrophysics is now just Astronomy

My main concern are the math courses as colleges may see my schedule as less rigorous, even though I'm still completing the math sequence through Calculus. So, my question: do colleges look at the class descriptions when determining the rigor of your schedule? The class description for College Algebra actually states that it is a Calculus class, so if AdComs read descriptions, I'm fine. Any input is appreciated!

Make a note of it when you tell them.

That’s weird because to me; College Algebra sounds like a fancy name for Algebra II or even College Prep (On-level) Algebra I. Calculus by its nature is a college-level course, so there isn’t any reason to distinguish it. I’d see if your counselor could explain in your letter of rec that you completed a math sequence through a Calc equivalent course.
