I'm on my URSA study list right now and on the top it says that I have complete 35 units already (going to be freshman in the fall).. What does that mean? I remember hearing somewhere that 45-90 is equivalent to sophomore standing.

the 35 units you have are from AP classes you took in high school. So yeah, you have sophomore standing. I've heard of freshmen coming in with junior standing too... crazy kids.

Oh. So does that mean I can "technically" finish in 3 years after all my required classes are finished (i.e GE's, Pre-reqs, Major reqs ...etc)?

As long as you have 180 units (60 upper division)...

and have completed all your major requirements.

How much do these credits help though? By the time I finish all my 10 GE's plus major requirements, wouldn't I have already have satisfied the 180 units? (None of my AP credits knock off a class except Calc AB)

to me the units are completely worthless, except for helping with enrollment because its done by class standing (ie. unit count). unless you're in a major with very few course requirements, you'll get at least 180 units by just taking classes for your major.

while you need at least 180 units (at least 60 of them must be upper division) to graduate, you cant graduate unless you have also completed your major requirements.

I'm a pre-biz econ major. Would my AP Credits be of any use?

nope, won't be any use. Unless you got a 5 on the AB and BC calc exam... that gets you out of math 31A and 31B respectively. oh yea, if you got 5's on micro and macro econ, that gets you out of econ 1 and 2.

I don't think it's that uncommon to not get 180 after ge+major.
