Course Withdrawal affect MBA admission

Hi
I am currently a sophomore at NYU CAS and I eventually plan on going to Grad School for an MBA. I plan on applying to top tier schools like NYU Stern, Columbia...
I recently dropped out of my introduction to Economic Analysis (theory track) class this semester because the class was a total mess. There was no textbook, the professor did not have any grading system and he started teaching some calc 2 and linear algebra in a class with a calculus 1 prerequisite. I did not want to just drop the course so I got the dean to allow me to take another course and I switched my major from Econ Theory to Econ Policy. I ended up taking Intermediate MicroEconomics (policy track).

I still have the same 18 credits but I also have the W on my transcript. Would this have any effect on my getting into a top tier Grad School?

A couple W’s during your college career is almost always a non-issue, and especially beats living through a class that makes you miserable or, even worse, enduring a class that makes you miserable and kills your GPA in the process. The panic switch is there, you know when to use it.

thank you. I have been busy catching up with all the work and have not been able to thanks you for your reply. I am quite glad I did make the switch of classes. My current class is a lot better than the class I was in before.
