Course Work Timeline

I am a freshman and I am really unsure as to when I should take my premed requirements. My premed advisor told me one thing, my upperclassmen friends tell me something different, and my regular advisor tells also tells me something different. It's stressing me out!

I just wanted to make a post on here to get the opinions of even more people before I choose my classes next week. Thanks guys.

Courses:

Right now I am taking Biology, Biology Lab, and Calc I. Next semester I know I am going to take Bio II, Bio II lab, and Calc II. But after those three, I am unsure what else to take. My school offers Physics I in the second semester. So one of my options would be to take Physics I/Physics I Lab with the three courses I just listed.

What do you guys think?

Do you intend on taking general chemistry? I would recommend taking that over physics.

You absolutely need to start gen chem ASAP.

It is a prereq for almost every higher level science course, including orgo for sure. So get gen chem done asap.

Ahhh they don’t offer Chem I next semester…The earliest I could take it would be fall of next year. I guess I could consider taking it over the summer, but I read that it’s better to shy away from doing any requirec courses in the summer.

So I will have to figure out the whole Chem thing later. But I guess my question is, would it be wise to take Physics I (with lab) next semester along with Bio II (with lab)?
