<p>How hard is VA tech? Is the course work impossible or is it just hard enough that it is fun? Do students have enough time to do other things, like clubs, sports etc?</p>
<p>It varies widely by major. Architecture and it's derivatives are probably the hardest, followed by Engineering. Both of those are very, very hard and if you're not pretty bright and/or a very hard worker you're going to have some real trouble. Other majors tend to have much less work, but there are probably exceptions that I'm not thinking about.</p>
<p>I'll mention that I'm an engineer, and I've still found time for clubs, sports, friends, dating, partying, etc. It can be a squeeze at times and it's much harder than "hard enough to be 'fun'," but it's not like you have to live in the library, even in the toughest majors.</p>
