I am taking these classes for fall of 2006.

Chem 1a
Math 1a
Asian American Studies R2a
Nutri Sci 10

Is this a doable schedule?
Also, I am currently waitlisted in Chem 1a. The class size limit is 523 and I'm number 8 on the waiting list. Is it possible for me to get into the class?

From what I know (I'm not a science/math major), getting into Chem 1A has more to do with whether you're enrolled in a lab section or not. Getting off the wait list for lecture is probably going to be fine, especially since you're 8; just attend the first few days and listen to what the instructor says about how to get off the waitlist. However, you can't take the course unless you're in a section, and those are the ones that are harder to get into depending both on your schedule flexibility and the fact that each section is pretty small

Thanks for your reply, I have just changed my schedule. Now, I'm enrolled in Chem 1A at a different time. I also got into the lab.

WHAT HOW? i am waitlisted at math and Im 15th on the list.

Beastmaster, were you number one in the line for your lab section?

No, CCN 11003 Chem 1a is open. There is only one open lab section and that's Friday 1-5 PM.
I haven't signed up for Math yet, but my CalSO conselors told me to do that in phase II. The reason is that the math department has guaranteed a math class to all those who want to take one. So, they will open more classes during phase II, I believe.

thank you so much for that. I really need to take math 16a and I can't get in now. Did they tell you that at calso coz i never heard about it.

Yeah, the counselors told me at CalSO. I guess the only downside to that is the schedule of the new math courses. You have to move around your schedule a bit to squeeze in the math course.

So, is my schedule doable?

15 units for my first semester. Doable?

yeah it seems doable. I haven't taken those courses but they're very standard freshman fare. I did 17 my first semester; wish I had done a little less. But I could never do just 13, so 15 sounds like a good number to me.

what ****es me off it that I was originally enrolled in the course, then I dropped the course because I thought I could get into another discussion section. But there wasn't and I was immediately put on the waitlist like one minute later.
