Courseload?

I know this is a bit general, but will it look bad if I've only take 13 hours (4 and 1/2 courses) per semester? All of my courses are pre-med sciences or honors, and I have some decent ECs, so will adcoms still think I'm slacking off?

I'm taking 16 right now, but I really feel I have to drop one class (Latin). I'm just not sure I can fit everything with the weird schedule I have this semester. FYI, this is my 3rd semester.

Bump. Any help is appreciated, especially from pre-meds.

Which schools are you applying to this Fall?

suck it up! =P...j/k
i have 2 math, 1 science, 1 english, and 1 programming class!!!

make it your goal to get straight As and you CAN do it, i KNOW it!!!

hahahaha im so lazy i took 12 units a quarter for 4 quarters (16 units the other 2) AP credit for the win.

Well 13 hours is full time (although it may not seem that way from the other posts on CC). It is not as if you are taking one class at a time in order to pass them. Is it less rigorous? Yes. Does it mean you are slacking off? No
Bottom line is do what you gotta do :). If you are not capable of getting a good grade in Latin with your schedule it is better to drop it now than wait and get a W or a gpa killer. Trust your own judgement. I don't think one more (or less) class will make or brake your chances.

i completely disagree with moonboy..

everybody is different...

follow your guts. if you honestly feel like you can't handle it..then dont force it. i was in the exact same situation as you a few days ago and i dropped a class and i feel a lot better now lol..then again its ur 3rd semester, so unless you really can't handle it, then sucking it up may not be such a bad idea but no matter what, u have to be comfortable with it..pretty much what the person above said = )

Thanks guys for the replies. Here's what I'm currently taking:

Chemistry 1 Honors
Physics 1 w/ Lab (a 3 hour lab!)
Literature Honors (tougher than it sounds, believe me)
Anthropology 1
Latin 1

I think I can handle 16, but the problem w/ Latin is that its study is cumulative. If you get a bad grade on a paper, or didn't really get the idea from one unit in a class, there's always room for improvment. If I can't devote enough time to learning Latin now, it's only going to get more difficult.

I suppose I'll drop. Thanks again for the replies.

You can catch up Latin, you just have to work things with your Professor.

Use the Professor's office hours and ask them to try and gauge where it is exactly you are behind.

Then use the upcoming holiday to catch the heck up.

You can catch up if you try to work things hard, Twenty8
