Courses and withdrawls

So I have a class which I'm not doing particularly well in and I would like to drop it and I only have until the 5th of November to do so. I was hoping to transfer in the Fall of 2008 and I was wondering if having a W on my transcript would be a bad thing? I would still have 14 credit hours and a solid GPA minus this other course.

Anyone with suggestions? Quickly please haha

plenty of people transfer to great schools with a W. I myself don't have one but I did retake a class I got a B- in.

Most schools do not care, particularly if it is only once or twice.

If it gets to be more than that, some schools might want some sort of explanation. Others will not care. It just depends.

I think it's fine. After all, people drop classes for all sorts of reasons, not just bad grades (scheduling problems, class not what you expected, ect.) so I wouldn't think the school would assume it was something Bad, if it's just this once and your other grades are good.

I have a similar question...right im a freshman also looking to transfer for fall '08 and I want to drop bio. my remaining classes would be my FYS, calc, and chem. this only leaves me with 12 credits and a W so im really worried how much it will effect my chances. I have until November 9th :X
