Courses for Business: Should I do a research program or take AP Computer Science?

Hi, I want to go into business and finance. I am in high school and I am a freshman planning course selection. I can either take a three year research program where I create an independent math/computer science research project or take a coding class sophomore year and then go to AP Comp Sci Junior year.

In sophomore yr I can start the research program or do a coding class to learn python. The coding class is a prerequisite to AP Comp Sci.

With the research, I can learn new skills. During senior year, people in the research program submit their research to get awards (Only if it is really good) and you get a mentor from college during the sophomore year who guides you in the research. Mentors usually from an Ivy League and they can possibly give you a college recommendation as well.

However, I am equally interested in taking AP Comp Sci. If I take AP Comp Sci, I can take classes like C++ or Algorithms during senior year. I know computer science is important in the modern day and could be important.

Would this research project program help more? Does AP Comp Sci play a significant role when going into finance or just pursuing something in the math area?
