I was thinking of RHETOR R1A for the first semester and R44(Roots of western civilization) for the second semester. How do you think this is? any suggestions? fun(read: interesting) classes?. I don't really find rhetoric class interesting but since I am going for a heavy load in the first semester itself, do you think it will be easier. Also, R44 can be used for either first or semester both

Rhetoric and L&S R44 are both reading/writing intensive. There’s a reason why the latter is five units. And if you’re not interested in Rhetoric, I would highly suggest against it. But once again, it all depends on how your GSI grades.

You can check the departments or the schedule’s “view books” links to see if reading lists are available, so that you can choose a course with readings that are interesting to you.
