Courses in Weinberg Possible if admitted to McCormick?

Hey guys!
I was admitted to McCormick for the class of 2014 but was wondering whether you can take courses at the other Undergrad schools as well such as Weinberg.
Im especially interested in the 'Financial Economics' Certificate program at Kellog but the course requirements include 2 courses only offered at Weinberg. I was a bit worried about this and thus the question.
Thanks for your responses!

yes of course you can! and you probably have to in order to fill up your elective requirements.

at least i’m pretty sure…someone correct me if i’m wrong!

Weinberg courses are open to all undergraduates.

They are, but I’m not sure that particular Kellogg certificate is open to McCormick students- they have certain ones specifically for McCormick students (I believe one is Managerial Analytics)

May I apply to the certificate program if I am not a WCAS or McCormick student?

Yes, both certificates are open to all Northwestern undergraduates who fulfill the prerequisites regardless of their school or major. We encourage all qualified students who believe that the certificate program will contribute to their education and career goals to apply.

Good to know.

From Website:
“The Kellogg certificate courses can be used by WCAS and McCormick students as unrestricted electives. Individual programs or departments may also count them toward the degree requirements as related courses. Students should confer with their advisers and appropriate departments to discuss how the certificate courses may fit into their course requirements.”

slicedbread21,

a lot of engineering students, especially those in IEMS department, have econ as their second major.
