courses, time-tables, etc.

How is everyone going about this? Do we have to figure out our own time-tables? Can anybody tell me why first-years aren't allowed to sign up for Intro to Communications Studies and Intro to International Development? Are there any courses in the faculty of arts that we absolutely must take because they're so fabulous? I'm totally lost when it comes to course selection.

I'm totally lost too! I tried planning out my schedule, but there are labs and lectures and not all of them have the note that says it needs to be taken with a lab/lecture. I'm fresh out of high school so i've never done this whole course selection thing.
If anyone has any advice to offer, I'd greatly appreciate it! ^_^

I don't even know which courses we're allowed to take and those that we're not allowed to take. There's a list but that doesn't make sense because some of my courses that were approved by an advisor through the whole course approval form saga aren't on the list. Shouldn't we be allowed to take any course that begins with 100 or 200 as long as there are no prerequisites? Why is this so complicated? COURSE REGISTRATION IS TOMORROW!
