Courses you want to take but can't (etc, schedule conflicts...)?

I'm sure a lot of us that can't afford to take 10 classes a day have this kind of problem.

I'm actually fairly nonchalant, not taking it too seriously, but it'd honestly make school a bit more interesting with the courses I want to take instead of all these other hosts of classes.

I'll quote myself from another thread:
I can't take the courses that I, Invoyable, surprisingly want to take (a shocker...there are actually classes in school that I like to take..).

For example, computer science / making...etc that focuses on computer applications, some game-making and a variety of interesting stuff. (just slack off, learn some stuff, use the computer and get an A).

I was trying to drop a class but my counselor won't let me (granted, I could probably technically drop out, but it's fairly difficult and my counselor pretty much won't let me).

"Can I drop precalculus?"
"No."
"How about chemistry or history?"
"No."
"...At least I can drop french II?"
"No."
...And PE is required. ...And same for English (grad req or some bs).
I was trying to drop precalc, ap world, chem, french, and etc...for computer science and a few other rare fun, easy classes...but LOL epic failure.

Either way, bleh, I'm not the type to complain about this stuff or get frustrated over it.

So for the rest of you: what classes do you like at school, and can you take them? Any scheduling conflicts so that you couldn't take them, or any sort of school policies of such? And etc...I suck at keeping a topic to a limited focus (not that I care about such things anyways).

I REALLY wanted to take AP Psychology, but "Psychology A" and "Psychology B" are prereqs for it.. and those classes are only allowed to be taken freshman or sophomore year. I intended to take those 2 psych classes my sophomore year so that I could take AP junior year, but they got rid of them because of budget cuts. Therefore, everybody in my class (2010) is permanently unable to take that class. Now, this year, they're back, and they're not letting us juniors take them.

No AP Psychology for me, then. =[

I wanted to take French IV, but apparently I can't take that, APUSH (and its required coreq, AP Lit), math, and health (which I didn't ask for and don't need, so why does it matter whether I have it or not?) simultaneously. Therefore, I'm skipping to AP French... but I'm still disappointed about missing French IV. : /

J'adore le francais. :(

I really wanted to take Digital Photography this year but I have such a weird group of classes it was impossible. We have to take Morality and Church History as a junior which is in my Photography period. Gah.

I chose economics but I wish my school offered a harder economics course, like AP micro or macro

I had to choose between AP physics and AP stats because they were only offered during first period. I chose stats, but I kinda regret it.

I wanted to take an Introductory Molecular Biology Course at Princeton but due to our stupid rotating schedule(I don't think they exist anywhere else....) that would mean I would have to drop three classes in the afternoon to take one class. Argh!

My junior year I wanted to take beginning drama (my best friend had taken it the previous year and loved it) but it conflicted with upper-level band. I wasn't willing to drop down to regular band, so I didn't end up taking it. I don't really regret it. It probably actually wouldn't have been much fun for me. I'm too shy and I'm not really the theater type. Being in honors band with my friends was more fun.

I couldn't take AP Chem or APUSH in school this year because of scheduling conflicts. I decided to take APUSH online and AP Chem self studied.

I was supposed to round out my APs this junior year with AP Art: Drawing, but our school had budgeting/scheduling problems, so I'm stuck with a non-credit class. The art department was rather sad, since they knew me since freshman year, but we all have to deal, but I'll take it in senior year. It would've been nice to have that weighted grade though, especially for UCs D:

I had to choose between AP Calc and AP Lit. In retrospect I should have choosen AP Calc since i'm looking into the health/med field, but I love my AP Lit teacher and ever person in that class is someone I consider a friend. So I'm stuck taking Calc at the CC, which will not be as easy. :/

Oh and I'd kill to have AP Psychology at my school, but noppeee. Heck i could count the number of AP classes my school offers on one hand. And of COURSE, the c/o 09 is the last class to not be allowed to take AP's during freshman and sophomore years. foooooey.

I had to choose between Dynamic Writing and Vocal Ensemble...I obviously wanted choir over super lame writing course but somehow I randomly got signed up for writing and I couldn't change it back :(

This year Choir, Spanish III, and Computer Science were only offered during fourth block. I really wanted to take all three =[. I chose Spanish III, but when the choir class heads off to Florida on tour, I have a feeling I will rue the day I made that decision. Oh well, there's always next year :).

I really wanted to take the honors literature and accounting classes, but I had to take a study because of doubling up on sciences. Which is my fault, I guess, but if I didn't have to take PE, I wouldn't have a problem.

Next year, I'm fairly certain I'll get all the classes I want. Or at least most of them. :C

My sophomore year history teacher was awesome, and I'm really hoping his AP European History class proposal will be passed. If it isn't, I'll take his elective class still, but I'd much rather have European History. His elective class isn't as intense as his full-year classes, and for some reason, he's more entertaining when he's teaching intensely.

i had to choose between yearbook and trig because they were both 1st period. i chose trig because i wanted 4 years of math for college but i was really sad i couldn't do yearbook again.

Last year it seemed like I had to choose between keeping my chem teacher and or keeping my math teacher, because it was the same block.
After summer break I learned, that they moved the math class into a block, which is a free block for me, but I can't take it, because the class is full.
I've always wanted to take computer science, but I never had the chance to take it, since it was always at the same time like classes I need to graduate.

AP Euro... and other dual-enrollment classes like partial differential equations and OChem.

My freshman year I had to choose between debate and AP Bio. I went with AP Bio. Haven't regretted it since.

I don't know, maybe if I'd done debate I'd be a poli sci major or something. Back then I was really into politics and thought science was lame and boring. But then I didn't have time to keep up with news, etc. and my interest gradually waned...I guess life would've been different. I wouldn't have gone to Caltech.

French III Honors and AS Physics.

APUSH - it's known as one of the most interesting classes at my school, and because of the time consumption, there is only 1 class. Too bad I had an obligation to do jazz band (I'm their only pianist), which is in the same period. To make it worse, this year, there are two classes of APUSH...

Journalism - Again, I wanted to take jazz band, which is 3rd period. International Relations is THE class that all the "elite" people have to take (and it's the most interesting class at school), and it is 2nd period. Journalism is 4th period. Coincidentally, AP English is 2nd, 3rd and 4th. :(
I ended up dropping journalism, which I wanted to take, but was the lowest on my list.
