courses

If I go to Carnegie Mellon, i'll be in H&SS econ, what type of classes will I take as a freshman? How hard are the classes? How many classes will I take a semester?

Interp/Seminar/Prog/CSW-mini/Principles of Econ/etc. They will probably change it so check out the course catalog if it is updated.

Easy.

4-5. You will take 5 but you can drop one if you want. As long as you are above 36 units (Each class is around 9-12 units).

Realize that once you declare your major, you will be in Tepper too so many people take classes other than econ. You can also visit the Tepper website, click on undergrad econ, and check out all this information out.

thanks acceptedalready

Can i take micro and macro economics and courses in history and politics as a freshman because i really like those type of courses?

No sir. Micro/Macro are very important classes here at CMU. We didn't get such a prestigious Econ program by letting freshmen take such important classes :)
Micro/Macro use calculus and Principles of Econ combined for the most learning and best education quality possible. You'll find upper CMU econ classes are very engaging and much different from normal Econ courses. I think ours is very similar to those at Uchicago's.
