what did you take your first semester fresman year and how did you like the courses?

080.101 Topics in Neuroscience - A pretty vigorous introductory course into the field of Neuroscience. Dr. Hendry's lectures can be interesting but hard to follow at times. Tests were pretty picky, but overall a decent class. Unfortunately, I don't see this course listed for Spring 2006, however Systems Neuroscience (080.205) is available and Dr. Hendry teaches this class as well...but it's not recommended for freshman.

010.101 Intro to the History of European Art Part I - Professor Kufper was absolutely the worst lecturer ever. I hated this class. It would have been wonderful if the lecturer was good. Fortunately, there will be a new professor next spring...it's all about how good the professor is.

030.101 Intro Chemistry I - I had prof Meyer, who was a great teacher and lectures were easy to follow. The class is graded on a bell curve but it's not too difficult to get an A if you put in a lot of work.

030.105 Intro Chem Lab I - Going into college, I was really dreading labs, but chem lab really wasn't as bad as I thought. Labs go for 3 hours once a week, but most of the time you'll get out early when you finish. Lab write-up's aren't that difficult (just hope for a good TA). Not a difficult class but a lot of work for a one credit class.

101.107 Calculus II for the biological and social sciences - Really a great and worthwhile class. This class surveys pretty much every part of math EXCEPT calc II (we did DiffEQ, Linear Algebra, Calc III, and Statistics). oO Calc II for engineering (109) is a completely different course. The class was pretty managable and prof Zhang was an EXCELLENT professor. He graded all exams for the next day with comments on each one of them. Really the only portion of the course that gave me trouble was the Statistics part. Lectures were pretty good (even considering these were math lectures). -- I don't see prof Zhang teaching this next year, instead he will be teaching Calc I for Bio/Social Sci (101.106).

Total of 14 credits...very manageable courseload with LOTS of free time for doing whatever. But then again, I procrastinated WAY too much. ;/

Sorry...every time I said Spring 2006...I really meant Fall 2006...sorry about that. -.-
