Hey guys, I’m an international student applying this year to UC. I’m really perplexed about the Coursework other than A-G
section on the UC app. Should I include non academic courses on my transcript such as PE, health? Does being teacher’s assistant count? I would really appreciate if you could elaborate. Thanks in advance 
UC’s really do not care about the non a-g courses. I would not list PE or Health unless the Health class is specific to your intended major and not a required Freshman course. My son took a C++ programming class on-line that was not UC approved but used the non a-g course section to explain the course.
You can list your TA class and explain your duties but again the UC’s really do not care about these courses. They are more informational.
@Gumbymom hi, quick question: was your son’s online C++ programming class listed on his official transcript? I took an online programming class last summer but I did not receive academic credit for it; I just took the class for fun. Thank you
No it was not listed on his official transcript. He listed it under that non a-g course section or it could be listed under the additional information section. He also did an on-line IOS application course which he listed. He did have certificates indicating completion of the courses if he required proof of taking class in case the school asked for such documentation.
