Couzens Hall

My daughter was just assigned to Couzens Hall today for her Freshman year living arrangement. Can you tell us anything about this hall...especially those who have lived here in the past? We would appreciate it....thanks

Couzens hall was renovated a few years ago. All rooms now have air conditioning. Also, there are study/relax lounges on most floors. The bathrooms were renovated too. The building is a mix of freshman and returning students. The building does not have a dinning hall, but it is a short walk away from the hill dining center.

If you want to see what the building looks like, go to the UofM housing facebook page and find the Couzens photo album.

@UofMDAD I will also be living in Couzens Hall next year as an HSSP student. I believe it houses sophomore and freshman students but the majority of freshman students are in the HSSP program. The dorm is really nice and it is right next to the medical school campus. However, it will be about a 10 minute walk to the classes on central campus.

I lived in Couzens my second year and it was awesome!

Couzens was awesome, I lived there as a sophomore. In my opinion, I don’t think Hill dorms are as social as Central Campus dorms, but it’s still a great placement, especially for a freshman. I think your daughter will enjoy it. Rooms are very nice, everything recently renovated.

My D lived in Couzens this past year as a freshman student athlete. The dorm is beautiful! She was in a very large double. It was a trek to south campus, especially tough getting there during the bad weather, but for a nonathlete getting to central campus is no big deal. She rode her bike to central campus as much as possible. She found the dorm to be very quiet though. She hardly ever saw people on her floor. Mostly all kept their doors closed all the time. She liked the many study rooms and used them. One room has a piano, which she would play at times. It’s a short walk to the dining hall on the Hill, though she would mix it up and eat on central campus as well.
