COVID-19 and college admissions

Hi guys!
I just got accepted to UCLA as a transfer student. I finished all my IGETC and my major-prep classes. Since I had extra time this semester, I enrolled in an additional class from assist.org which was optional, hoping that I would complete it so I wouldn’t have to do it later.
However, since we were forced to switch to remote education due to COVID-19, that class became a joke. I learned absolutely nothing, the teacher is not even letting us join meetings and my grade is terrible. In all other classes, I’m pulling A’s.

I want to drop this class, and if I do, I will receive Excused Withdrawl on my transcript. Do you think excused withdrawal would be a reason enough for UCLA to rescind their admission decision?
I got a standard contract which just says to maintain GPA and doesn’t mention any specific conditions.

Thank you!

Ask the transfer admissions office. They are the only ones who can give you a definitive answer.

I did and they just said that they cannot comment on hypothetical situations.

How bad does it look like your grade would be? A W is better than a D or an F. Also, given the switch to emergency online status for classes, chances are that just about everyone will have at least one W this term. I am not specifically familiar with the UC system, but for most places a W this term wouldn’t be a problem at all, but a D or an F could be.

It would probably end up being a D or a C. I ended up dropping the class, receiving EW, and letting UCLA know about the changes. I sincerely explained what went wrong and apologized. I am waiting on their response and hopefully, they will understand. COVID-19 sucks.
