Hi guys! I’m a rising senior in high school and I had a political science internship lined up for this summer but it was unfortunately canceled because of COVID-19 :(. I was wondering if you all have thoughts on whether this will negatively affect my admission chances or what other things I can do this summer instead. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
It is unfortunate but it should not hurt you. Tons of students will be in your same position with having internships/programs/jobs etc. cancelled this summer.
Thank you! That is definitely reassuring to hear.
Let me tell you that I am EXACTLY in the same position as you, and so are my almost all of my friends. Just be sure to do SOMETHING with you summer (take a summer class, tutor someone via Zoom, etc.) so that colleges see that you have motivation.
