15 healthcare workers at Maui Memorial just tested positive for COVID-19, which means there are likely many more cases there of patients they treated. Scary!
H has cold symptoms and a slight fever. :-/
Updates:
-Friend’s toddler is holding a steady temp under 100, even without meds. He even played a little with his toddler basketball hoop yesterday. Parents are both sick but the 4 month old, who had been showing symptoms, seems to have completely recovered.
-Uncle is getting better, slowly but surely. He’s able to eat real meals now but is still using oxygen. So far, knock on wood, my aunt and cousin who live with him have not shown any symptoms.
Two coworkers have each had a positive in their extended families. They live in diff. areas of the state but neither has been in close physical contact recently. Happily, both have recovered.
My friend died of COVID-19 on Monday. She was on a ventilator for 12 days. As far as I know, she never regained consciousness.
Her husband is a basket case, of course. And because of this self-isolation, we have to comfort him from afar.
@scout59 I’m so, so sorry. Sending love and comfort to you and their loved ones.
I’m so sorry. I really wish they had a treatment for this disease. (sigh) One doesn’t go on a cruise expecting to come home with something deadly. I really feel for her husband.
My lad hasn’t responded to my “how are you doing today” question. That’s really not out of line for him not to respond so it’s not necessarily bad.
I see where he posted something for work earlier today. It wasn’t live like he usually does things though. I’m not sure whether it’s a good sign or something he felt like he had to do so mustered energy to do it.
So sorry, @scout59. How awful for her family and friends who can’t grieve together.
Oh, @scout59, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend.
Oh, no, @scout59, I am so, so sorry. That poor husband. There are just no words.
@scout59 I am so sorry.
@scout59 I’m so sorry!
@scout59, I am so sorry
So very sorry, @scout59 . And @Creekland - hope you hear from your DS and that his non response means he’s better.
We keep getting updates from out synagogue of losses of family members of congregants. Just got word today that the cantorial soloist’s brother in law (the cantorial soloist and his wife are very active members of the synagogue) died of COVID 19.
Oh, @scout59, how terrible. I’m so sorry.
Creekland, and anyone else whose family members may have symptoms but can’t get tested or see a doc, consider having them get a pulse oximeter, which is inexpensive and can help them to know if their blood oxygen levels are okay or falling. We got one for our daughter in law when she was alone and ill and it was reassuring to her and us that her oxygen levels were good. Of course, if she was feeling very short Of breath, we would have advised her to go to the ER regardless.
I had been wondering about your friend, @scout59. I am so sorry.
I’m so very sorry @scout59
@scout59 - I’m so sorry for your loss, and the for the poor grieving husband of your friend. What a difficult time to have to grieve alone.
We heard from D2 in Brooklyn several days ago and she likely has Covid19. She looked terrible and has most of the symptoms, starting with loss of her sense of smell. I will take the advice of @Mom0f3 and send her a pulse oximeter. D2 is getting better but has terrible fatigue and of course we are worried she could relapse.
