Cpa

I'm not sure where I should post this..but ..

I know someone who wants to pursue a CPA degree (accounting). She received her bachelors degree in business or something of that nature from a University in China..and received her master's degree in economics from a US university. Now, she wants to pursue accounting, and wants to get a CPA license. Does anyone know what is the best way for her to do this? Does she need to get another bachelors degree? or any other degree? THanks

each state has slightly different requirements whether one want to obtain a 'national' or state license. suggest she check the state's website for specific criteria. Typically, a cpa requires xx courses in accounting, yy courses in other business related fields, passing the exam, and zz hours of actual audit practice in a licensed firm.

does anyone know of any online cpa certifying program? She is from New York, btw.

I'm not sure what you mean. Once you have been licensed as a CPA, you need to take CPE (continuing professional education) each year, which can be done on line. But as stated above, requirements vary by state, and she needs to contact the New York State Board of Public Accountancy - www.op.nysed.gov/cpa.htm
