CPSLO: Final Transcript Anxiety

Hello everyone. I’m an incoming Cal Poly SLO Fall freshman and I just sent in my final transcript. I have all A’s and B’s (3.7 gpa) and took 9 classes my senior year of high school. Long story short, I received a NC (no credit) for my online Spanish 3 class. I didn’t need to take it, but I tried anyway. I had a hard time grasping the course work, and the college I took it from had the software ready in March so I had to cram all of the semester’s lessons into 3 months… I got mostly A’s and a few B’s on my assignments but I flunked the final meaning I get no credit for the class. I wrote Cal Poly SLO a letter with my transcript explaining all of this, but what do you guys think they’re going to do? How likely is it to have your admission withdrawn and is there anyone who has a story of actually getting revoked? Thanks, Kara.

Kara- I’ve had great success CALLING the Admissions office with any questions/concerns I’ve had. You actually get to speak to a real live human being who may be able to explain how it works (with a NC for Span 3) so that you won’t have to sit and wait and be anxious. I was close to getting a D in a class last semester, and called to ask what would happen if that ended up occurring. I have learned that old-fashioned phone calls most often will give you the answers you need a lot more quickly than e-mail or letters…they are also usually NICE to you- a bonus! Good luck. Hope you get your answer soon. I suspect I’ll be seeing you in the Fall.

Thank you! I hope you will. And yes, I have called them twice. The first time she just told me the standard “It will go up for review.” which I already knew. The second time, which was today, she told me to fax everything in to speed up the process, so I did. Hopefully that, and my letter will help me through. I’d be devastated if it didn’t.

i called yesterday and admissions said they had received my transcript but everyone else’s admittance seems to have changed to official whereas mine has not changed at all…
should i fax my transcript? and if so, did you fax the transcript yourself or have the school do it?

I lucked out because my mom works at the school so she could fax it, but I really don’t see where you fax it from being an issue. I suggest faxing, just because it’s simple and fast, and I was told to do it. I also express shipped my transcript, so that’s an option too.

But if they said they received it then you should just relax for a bit. Sometimes it takes them a couple days to a week to process it. Good luck! :)

About how long did it take for anyone to have their App Status changed after the transcript was taken off of the To-Do List?

my transcript fell off the to-do list and then like 10 minutes my app status changed to officially accepted. my portal hasn’t change d though

Was that today?

yeah like around 1
i called and they said tthey had hundreds to process but they may be done by the 15th

I guess mine is gonna take a little longer to process since i got a D in one of my support class for transfer.
