CR and WR help _NEEDED_

I'm scoring 650 in math
500 CR
and 500 WR
How do I improve to a 750+? I have a BB, Barrons 2400, Grubers and sparknotes but haven't used them yet. What are the best CR or Writing books that I should get?

Writing: extremely easy to get into the 700s. Learn about comma splices, subject verb agreement, modifying clauses, parallelism, and take a few practice tests. Best book/resource: silverturtle’s PDF.

Critical reading: much more difficult to improve. Nevertheless, I think anyone can improve; read magazines to get a hang of how ideas are conveyed in written pieces, study vocabulary if that’s causing you any trouble - with enough practice you should be able to consistently get fewer than 3 vocab questions wrong per test; think objectively/be alert. Best book/resources: Direct Hits (apparently), Blue Book tests, real magazines and stuff.

2300hopefully, what grade are you in?

10th. .

bump .

Your score is amazing for a tenth grader!

Suggest practicing a bit (:

I would strongly recommend NOT using Barron’s… a lot of the time it’s inaccurate and awkwardly worded. Use the Official Collegeboard SAT Book.

You still have another year to boost your SAT scores and they probably will improve naturally with your harder coursework. You should try reading classics and writing under a time limit. Do more practice tests so you can become familiar with common grammar mistakes in parallelism, etc like kosig mentioned above.
