i gave some answer as showing the provisional nature of science, likely referring to passage 1 and 2...not sure

Oh, my reason for my choice was that in the first paragraph they spoke of the people making stuff up and then changing it when it was disproved. In the second one, it then talked about scientists that didn't use the scientific method.

Provisional is correct I believe...

The second passage was not related to a failure to adhere to the scientific method, the overall topic was the presentation of museums.

is there a list of the problems that we've come to a consensus on?

It would be quite a short list, lol...

What was the vocab one about the altruism of some company director or something... magnamity?

I think this was addressed earlier, but not too clearly

In the passage about electronic media, there was a q about what "children learn from the media... discarded... that television is just television" was the answer "it makes people feel that things from the media can be used and thrown away..."

wat was the question and other answer choices for the 'provisional' one

Does anyone remember the sc with the singer?

^mellifluous?

the one about the media - was one of the answers that pop culture determines a child's perception of himself and the world around him?

also, was the one about stroking one's ego about advertising?

and about the radio and the newspaper - the disadvantage is countered by the fact that one can just turn the page and ignore an article?

ari, that's correct.

I think this was addressed earlier, but not too clearly

In the passage about electronic media, there was a q about what "children learn from the media... discarded... that television is just television" was the answer "it makes people feel that things from the media can be used and thrown away..."

Yeah I said the answer was that media "products" are easily discarded. Though I didn't really like any of those answers as products is sort of vague.

for the ego, i said kids are fed certain info by advertisers. (or sthin to that extent)

radio and newspaper .. don't recall that. maybe experimental?

I don't remember the exact question, but I don't think any of the answers had to do with advertisers - the passage was talking about media in general, not advertisers.

Yes! That's probably the only one in CR that I got right. :)

radio and newspaper? are you sure that wasn't the experimental?

I don't remember the question, but was one of the answers: uses parallel structure?

um...I'm pretty sure it was about advertisers? LOL this is so confusing
DAMN IT CR!!

I thought it was like...kids were being bombarded by lots of commercial messages..

hm, it was one of those short paragraphs with two questions, i believe. the passage was about how newspapers are cheaper in terms of holding more content, and how radio programs can just be ignored by not having the radio on...

really? i thought the question asking what was stroking the childrens' egos and getting rid of their insecurities was talking about advertising...must be wrong then
