Is it possbile to raise a 580-600 CR to a 700 in like the Oct/Nov 06 SAT??

Only way to find out is to try.

I got mine up from 600 to 710. Its possible.

what did you do to study for it?

Practiced alot from the collegeboard book and got lucky perhaps :P

Yea Im having the same problem. Ive taken 3 proctored practice tests so far and Ive gotten a 640, and a 610 twice. I looked through several books to try and find strategies but none of them seem to fit. Im taking sats in jan, so right now Im just doing any and all reading passages I can get my hands on, lakshya M, is that what you did?

Yeah thats typically what I did but I was getting somewhere around 720 most of the time(So you might want to bump up those scores). Another thing that I did was that I made sure I knew why I made a mistake and try not to make it again. Best of luck for your Jan SAT.

Get lucky, that is my advise:)!

Has anyone here raised a 430 to a 550 in 2 months?

That is possible on just guessing alone.

i raised mine from 680 to 760..read the questions

for previous post...do you mean read the questions (and answers?) first and then read the passage?

I think he just means that Read the questions carefully.

practice by reading things that are boring to you, so when you take the SATs and get a passage on some stupid art movement or something, it won't be as bad

hey people... im givin the sat 2 in jan as well.. what i hear is that c.board CR is actually easer than teh real thing..

Im taking the JAn SAT too. You mean the CR Blue book or collegeboard.com is easier than the real thing?

well yah.. thats what ive heared...

Blue book CR is very close to the real thing. The vocab part on the real thing is a tad harder though.
