CR Line Reference Question

<p>In the Barron's CR book, there is a question "According to this line reference... you can infer...". I got this question wrong, and when I checked the answer explanation, it justified its answer by referencing text that is further in the reading than the specified line reference in the question.</p>

<p>Is this allowed on the SAT or did the Barron's book make a mistake?</p>

<p>Two reasons why I think it's not allowed is because:
1: The questions are supposed to be in order of starting at the beginning of the passage and to the ending. The referenced text is <em>further</em> in the reading than the specified line reference.</p>

<p>2: When it says "according to this line reference", shouldn't we only look at that line reference to find an answer?</p>

<p>for line reference questions, the answers are typically around five or ten lines above or below the line, so maybe the barron’s book isn’t perfectly aligned with the real sat’s format.</p>

<p>also, CB questions are not worded, "According to this line reference… "</p>
