<p>I read somewhere on CC that the critical reading part of the SAT is the most important section, so that would mean math isn't as important. I know the writing part probably doesn't hold as much weight yet, but I always thought that the math and critical reading sections were equal.</p>
<p>Depends what school you are applying to. State schools generally don’t give weight to certain sections, but liberal arts colleges, like William & Mary, or liberal-centralized colleges, like Brown, will generally looking at CR and Writing whereas science schools, like MIT and Caltech, will probably require you, in a sense, to have perfect in Math.</p>
<p>If you’re applying to HYPSM though, Math and CR will both definitely be very important. You’re going to have to score high in both of them equally.</p>
