I'm not sure if people will respond to so specific of a passage-based question, but nonetheless:

From BB Ed. 2; Test 7; #12:
12. The last line of Passage 2 suggests that the author of Passage 1 has
(A) treated a serious subject lightly
(B) utilized a stilted writing style
(C) never observed children at play
(D) lost touch with childhood realities
(E) falsified crucial evidence

I chose (B); the correct answer is (D).

Clearly the writing in Passage 1 is described by the author of Passage 2 as "stilted", as supported by "What I do dispute, however, are the grandiose conclusions that the so-called 'experts' have drawn" [Passage 2, line 15-17]. I think (B) is a stronger claim and better answer because the entire intention of the second passage is to criticize overly profound conclusions made by "experts".

Thank you.
