CR Question. Help me!

Please help if you have 2nd edition blue book, and are willing to read the passage and explain.

In the 2nd edition BB, on page 711, passage-based comprehension question:

The author suggests that people in a restaurant (line 53-54) are expressing their emotional need for

a. unhindered interaction
b. relative privacy
c. respect from strangers
d. approval from others
e. reclusive isolation

I picked b. relative privacy, but it was not correct. E. relclusive isolation was shown as the correct answer. Why is that??? Reclusive isolation seems too extreme for describing the action of the people who choose to sit on the side tables. In my opinion, b. relative privacy more appropriately describe the emotional need of the people who choose to sit in the side tables.

Which one is the correct answer? Or was the answer in the book mistyped? Thanks for your input.

The answer is B. I think E was a misprint. If you go on the collegeboard website and look at the explanations they state B as the correct answer. I’ll check my Errata if I can find it.

Thanks for your help Jay!
