cr question help

p.430 #12: Growing up in a family where music was a daily part of life, STeve and Rick shared a determination (to become singing duos) known nationwide.
Why is of becoming a singing duo wrong? I saw a post about this, but it was not clarified resolutely.
Thanks in advance! May God bless you all and good luck on the next SAT
the correct answer is to become a singing duo.

‘to become a single duo’ is right.

The word ‘Duo’ itself contains the meaning of two people. Therefore, when you say ‘duos,’ it means that there are 4 or more people in total.

A single duo: 2 people in total
2 single duoS: 4 people in total
3 single duoS: 6 people in total

Hope that helps.

@ultimatesat I am sorry if my question was vague. I meant why is (of becoming a singing duo) wrong?

I think it may be one of those idiom ones. You dont say “determination of” you say “determination to”
