CR question

2nd Paragraph:

There samual sat each day, painfully tallying his data, his pencil poised like a scalpel in his hand, frowning at the gruesome but inevitable task ahead of him. Dwarfed by a monstrous blue suit, Samuel would finger the mournful prewar bowler that never left his head. And it was such an earnest sight, such an intimate window into a man whose nature seemed to be all windows - people wondered if he actual had a public self - that he might have been the only man in the world to claim vulnerability as his greatest asset.

The second paragraph implies that Tyne's clothes make him appear which of the following?

A. Casual
B. Pathetic
C. Stylish
D. Proud
E. Inappropriate

This is a CB question.... I'm confused. I'll reveal answer after a few posts so that hindsight bias doesn't skew your explanation

I have a feeling i’m wrong, but is it B?

Yes it is B, please explain.

I thought for sure it was E, because he is 1) dwarfed by a huge suit, and also 2) he has a really vulnerable appearance “full of windows”

both of these are inappropriate yes…?

I would say the answer is B also.

*people wondered if he actual had a public self - that he might have been the only man in the world to claim vulnerability as his greatest asset. *

People felt bad about him.

Well, based on my thinking, I think it’s B (E is viable too) because the suit is monstrous and it DWARFS him. Imagine meeting a person with clothing that is too big for them. Would you feel that they look “pathetic”?

E is viable too, in fact, I actually changed my post to read E, so I might have gotten this one wrong if it were the test I was taking… (I feel less confident now…)

But then, when it says “earnest sight” I feel that people think it is a promising sight, and “public” i comprehend to mean “ordinary”…

Can someone elaborate on what “his whole self is all windows” means?
