CR Question

BB2, page 793, Test 7 Section 8..

For #13 I chose A but the answer is B..
How can the Jocelyn College be experimental? It makes no sense to me..

Help meeee

bumppppppppp

I’m actually studying with that book too so:
it says “progressive college”
and the definition of progressive is “favoring or promoting reform” (wordnetweb.princeton.edu)

therefore, the answer is B, liberal and experimental
you just have to know your vocabulary

^wrong. You DONT have to know your vocabulary. You can figure out the answer from CONTEXT ONLY. I did. Of course i knew what progressive meant but i SOLELY used CoNTEXT. OP: Look at the surrounding details of that marked line in the paragraph and figure out WHY ITS experimental.

^Wrong! Markymark is right; this is simple vocab people. You need to know this basic vocab and ace this question to move on

I think it’s because it’s not repetitive like Dudley or Wilkins state?

wrong etennis!
You dont HAVE to know what progressive means. The question says so itself. In other words, the question says “IN CONTEXT, what does progressive mean in line…”
Even the question itself says to use context clues to figure out the answer.

That’s double fail Etennis

I still don’t understand why the college is experimental. What supports that answer??

LOL, it is experimental because it is “favoring or promoting reform” therefore they experiment with new things or reform them.

And I did not get to this part yet, I just looked at the question and figured it out that way, by looking at the vocabulary word “progressive” so stop being caustic redivorys. We are trying to help the OP and not trying to cause disagreement.
