CR time devotion out of 25

okay guys, here is a big question for the high scorers out there. How much time did you guys devote to each part of the CR section. Let's list the order.

Section 1
1-8: SC
9-12: 2 Short Passages
13-24: 1 Long Passage

Section 2
1-5: SC
6-9: Paired short passages
10-18: Long Passage
19-24: Long Passage

Section 3
1-6: SC
7-19: Paired Long Passages

Now this is for those who actually advocate the "Read the passage carefully first" policy. How much time do you guys devote to each part in each of those sections. 25 min for first 2 sections each, 20 min for the last.

I just did a CR test, so I can tell you pretty exactly what I did since I watch my stopwatch all the time:

Section 1
1-8: 5 min
9-12: 5 min
13-24: 12 min
Review: 3 min

Section 2
1-5: 3 min
6-9: 6 min
10-18: 7 min
19-24: 7 min
Review: 2 min

Section 3
1-6: 3 min
7-19: 16 min
Review: 1 min

It does depend on the difficulty of the passage and questions.

Yes I would encourage you not to read too much into this.

I think you're approaching this the entirely wrong way. Some sections are going to take way longer than others. Skip the one's you don't get, come back to them later.

yeah sometimes you need to change the order of quesstions.
however, in SC how long averagely do you spend on a question ?? I think I stay for so long on it.

i can usually do the SC for each section in about 3 minutes with minimal mistakes. Then i spend the rest of the time on passages, and sadly i still run out of time sometimes. I have never seen the lights of this so called "Review" at the end of all of lolcats4's sections. :]

Hm, I guess I'm just fast. I can finish a CR section in 15 minutes with near perfect accuracy, but I usually miss one on each section. So I force myself to slow down and pay attention. It takes SO much more time to make SURE I don't get that one question wrong.

you beast, mind sharing your tips or are you just a fast ass reader?

The latter. And I use the Grammatix strategies if I get stuck.

Section 1
1-8: 3 minutes
9-12: 5 minutes
13-24: 10 minutes
Review: 7 mins

Section 2
1-5: 2 minutes
6-9: 5 minutes
10-18: 5 minutes
19-24: 5 minutes
Review: 8 minutes

Section 3
1-6: 2 minutes
7-19: 10 minutes
Review: 7 minutes

whoa.....if i am a shuttle train in CR,lolcats and eassa r rockets with light speed

haha Ashraf, I take it you consistently get 800s?

wow Ashraf that's a lot of review time! How do you work so fast?

u guys work so fast lol...i wonder if anyone could do like 2/4/7 or w/e 12min of review time xD. btw do review time actually help? cuz i find it easier to just work slower and not give myself time at the end to review (also because i WOULDNT have anytime even if i wanted it)

^ Yeah, I could take more review time, but in may case it's better for me to take as much time as I need on each question, and then use the remaining time to review those hard questions again.

lolcats, what are these gramattix strategies??
i wish i were as fast a reader as you or eassa

Basically, you need to be able to point to the answer in the passage. If you can do that, it's right (as long as you aren't conjecturing!). If you can't, you need to look more or cross it off.

Also, basically, there are certain types of wrong answer that always show up - like those that are correct in every way except for the fact that they add information which may/may not be true
