<p>what are some of the "tone" words the SAT often uses??</p>
<p>for example "condescending," "indifferent" etc etc
i often find that i dont know some of the words related to tone and i cant answer the question.
i know there are 98542398 words to describe tone out there, but if there are any that particularly stand out or you have seen before on the SAT let me know</p>

<p>Barron’s 2400 book listed these words as vocab of tone - admonish, aloof, apologetic, assertive, cautious, confrontational, contrite, cynical, defensive, derisive, emphatic, empathetic, entreating, explanatory, inquisitive, nostalgic, penitent, reflective, sardonic, scathing, scholarly, sensationalistic, skeptical, tentative, understated.</p>
<p>dispassionate, sympathetic, mocking, amused, etc.</p>
