Hi CCers,

I recently sat for the Nov SAT without much prep (just browsing through books and reading formulas without much practice), and the results for CR and W were unsurprisingly disappointing. :/

CR: 630
M: 800
W: 590 (MC: 59, E: 8)

This was my first SAT, and I intend to sit for the Jan SAT to boost my SAT scores. I am able to commit about 2 to 3 hours daily prepping. Any advice/recommended readings that can help to minimize errors in passage based reading and improving sentences would be much appreciated! Made the most mistakes there (8 each).

For writing, solve only real tests and become familiar with all the sentence patterns that they test you on repeatedly…I have solved over 20 real tests…and I can now spot some of the answers just based on one or two words that I see in the list of answers…that’s how formulaic the test makers are…grammar is an easy 800 (aside from the essay) if you know exactly what to look for and exactly how they try to trick you

Thanks for the response!

Any other opinions? What about critical reading, is it the same approach? I find myself picking the next best option and missing the answers. :(
