So today i walked into my 100% white IB SL History of the Americas class and sat down at my seat as i usually do 5th period.

45 seconds pass by,

Some white girl comes in waving her arms around goin "crank dat soulja boy, why me crank it etc "

then some other white girl is like " O i know that song" and starts singing it and dances too and pretty much the whole class started singing it.

Shock.Disbelief.Amazement.Laughter. - adjectives to describe my reaction.

So i watched the clip on youtube. pretty catchy tune.

Its just funny seeing these IB kids singing this rap song lol.

Yeah at this point soulja boy is considered old news at my school. If you don't know the dance, you're weird. And just for reference, out of 2100 students, around 60 are black.

Haha that's so funny because it's basically flip flopped at my school...I'm like one of the only white kids (well, there are a handful 5%ish maybe) and some kids in my class were doing it and I was like....huh?? Ya, completely oblivious.

You would think that being surrounded by the "hip hop culture" (um, did that just sound like some news anchor term?) would make me assimilate and know that but I think quite the opposite has happened. Oh well, I get along fine. Love my school! (Except the lack of opportunities :()
