I'm doing very badly in my theology class. I skipped a few classes, but I was an idiot and it turned out that we had some quizzes and a small test on those days. It's past the deadline to withdraw with a W.

I know what I did was stupid and I gotta live with my poor decision but what do I do? Should I stay with the class and probably get a D, or just withdraw? I'm considering withdrawing from the university as a whole, and I have no idea if the credit for that class would even transfer since it's theology, so on one hand I don't feel that bad about it. But would it still be on my transcript even if I withdraw from the school and attend a different place where I wouldn't get credit for it?

Hm. Does the prof seem like the type to work out some kind of extra-credit thing with you if you came up to him/her and admitted your stupidity and vowed to work your ass off? I don’t know much about withdrawing, but I’m pretty sure that people can see all of your transcripts and GPA’s from all the institutions you’ve attended. The only benefit I can see about the fact that it probably won’t transfer is that it probably won’t count towards your GPA and hence your “cum laude” stuff at the institution where you end up getting your diploma. Hope that made sense :P

Withdrawing from the school as a whole seems extreme, if you’re doing all right in your other classes. Have you tried talking to the professor, apologizing for missing the classes, and asking if there is any option for making up the test/quiz? (Extra credit?) If it’s too late to withdraw, I would attend every class, study hard, and try to get the best grade possible, even if it’s only a D. A D is still better than an F.

Naturally I’m not considering withdrawing because of one class, it’s for various other reasons I’ve posted throughout these forums. I’m gonna talk to the professor tomorrow.

don’t worry about i think, most employers/grad schools won’t care that you got a D in theology
