right now my telebears schedule looks like this:

In for sure:

Chem1A (4)
Math1A (4)
Geog20 (4)

Waitlisted (position #1, class limit 17 students):

COLWRIT R4B (4)

my telephase ii has ended, and when i checked the telebears page today, it said this:
Total units: 12
Total including wait-list units: 16

Your current schedule is below the minimum number of units approved by your college or school.

You must add more classes or obtain approval from your college or school to be enrolled in fewer units than the minimum.
i was counting on getting into the waitlisted class because i'm position #1, but i asked people and they said there was a chance i won't get in.

this means i only have 12 units, below the minimum. i also can't add any more classes because my phase appointment has ended.

what can i do? how good are my chances of getting into the waitlisted class? am i even going to be allowed to start school with my schedule looking like this (only 12 units)?

No need to panic, as long as you have 13 or more units BY the time school starts, or I think they give you at least 2 weeks of time from when Spring semester starts before they question you about why you dont have the minimum units and then the financial aid office will probably notify you as well. You don't have to panic!

At CalSO they advised waitlisted students to adhere to the "10% rule," which presumes that roughly 1 in 10 students will drop the class. Of course, this isn't an exact science, though I'm inclined to think you'll have better chances enrolling in a larger class. That said, you are the first on the waitlist, and I'm not entirely sure if College Writing is a course everyone naturally loves.
