I'm thoroughly jealous of your accomplishments (well, mainly the top one and the bottom one). I don't know much about admissions, but your ecs should cover your GPA.

I wouldn't say it so quickly jenkset. Champion piano players in the ivies are quite common. Extremely common actually. You would have to send in a tape and see how your abilities compare to the rest of the applicant pool; I assure you that there are many others that will give you competition given how many there truly are. I quick search of chance forums will confirm this. You average is under 90, so you have a B average. Definitely apply, but that GPA is probably going to come back to haunt you.

So there are actually lots of people who get to play at Carnegie Hall? I always thought like prodigies played there haha. But this guy's been to the White House! Even if they're not that special, I'm still jealous! I wish I could play at Carnegie... :)

thanks for your honesty, I know my grades aren't Yale standard.
I'm 10% Native American and 50% asian, which doesn't help at all.
Any suggestions to help increase the chances?

-spend time on essays and make them unique, something that will make you stand out from thousands of others
-get recommendation letters from teachers that know you pretty well and think highly of you.

This is pretty standard advice, but it can really help you out lots. Good luck!
:)

You are obviously very talented. Your GPA will hurt you, but I think you can overcome it if you get outstanding letters of rec. from teachers and write a eloquent essay. Try for Yale EA, but I might also try for Columbia, Brown, and Stanford as they seem forgiving (in my opinion) if an applicant is truly talented. Good luck!

Thank you so much for all the advice!!!
Do you think it would better for me to apply for Yale RD and show a very good first semester?
Would that have a bigger chance of getting in?
