Crazy AP classes, anyone else in the same boat? (and how to deal)

Well I finally got my schedule fixed and now I have 5 AP classes, and I'm self-studying for the German one (but that's easy-peasy since I was in Austria ;) but right now it's dawning on me how much damn work this is going to be. Not freaking out, just the kind of 'oh ****' reaction you get before you go over a drop in a roller coaster.

Anyone else in the same boat as I am? Sometimes it's hard not to be a little envious of the people who are partying senior year away, but I'll be happier come college time.

What do your nonschool hours look like (weekends, afterschool) and what do you do to unwind?

M-F: Get home at 3:45 and start homework before 5. Work until done.
Weekends: Study for my SAT, catch up on class reading, plan the next week.

haha i feel youuuu. im looking at 4 AP's this year w/ an honors english class thats been notorious for more - than - ap - level work. -_- ...

i get out of school at 4 30, since i have to go 10 periods, and usually go to research for 2-3 hours twice a week afterschool. what sucks is, i live in queens in new york, go to school in the bronx, and do my research in the city. =/

so m - f, usually get home at 9 three days a week, sometimes later..
and the other days, around 7, because of clubs and stuffs. it sucks because i cant miss a single meeting ever .. im an officer on the clubs so it'd be pretty bad if i missed meetings for my own clubs.
my schools a top 10 in the country as well, so the AP course loads are ridiculous.

whatever, ill sleep next summer.

.. ohhh lala its junior year. crunch time baby

by the way. how DO we unwind ...

my weekends are packed too.
i think im gunna be an alcoholic by this time next year.

I'll be taking 5 AP's this year too...

good bye sleep :)

I'm taking 7 AP tests this year and Im a junior.

Anyway, huh. Physics B is way harder than what I thought. As a matter of fact, it's not the breeze I expected.

How do I unwind? Lol that sounds funny. By doing more work. Im a workaholic see. I actually relax by creating websites and organizing new events and reading and learning and stuff like that. By playing the stock market. Which makes me wake up early, look at the clock and think: "half an hour til market opens" and makes me check every chance I get to see streaming quotes, and makes me freak out and stress me out but its such A THRILL!!!! Yah.

I like been stressed. I relax by stressing myself more. It's odd.

eesh. me too. 5. but 6 if you count that I'm taking micro/macro econ (2 tests)
but I'm a junior
even better with all the testing and crap...

uhh, i still need to work out how my EC schedule, but I did drop soccer this year because I knew I would not have 3-5 hours a night to spare!

M-F I get up at 6:00, leave at 6:50, finish school at 2:00, and finish any in-school clubs or extra help by 2:45

M: walk to the library, do hw until 5, go to art class until 7, eat dinner+30 min of tv, finish up hw, read, sleep

T: go home, snack+read, hw, dinner+30 min of tv, either study or work on art portfolio, sleep

W: go home, snack+read, hw, early dinner, hw, tv from 8-10...study or work on portfolio during commercials, sleep

Th: walk to the library, do hw until 5, go to art class until 7, eat dinner+30 min of tv, finish up hw, read, sleep

F: volunteer at historical society until 5, go home, maybe get a bit of hw done, go out with friends

Sat: hw, work at art school, hang out

Sun: PSAT prep, volunteer at historical society, hw

eventually I'll have to fit in NHD, extra time for school ECs, and maybe some volunteer tutoring but idk if I'll be able to do the last one

im taking physics b. im taking the C tests in may as well, and since youre taking 7 tests yourself ... i imagine your doing the same.

ah well, cheers.

I'm trying to find a way to unwind that doesn't leave me as tired as I was when I got home for school XP Nothing found so far and TV doesn't count.

if you were a guy i'd say porn

i have 5 AP's and academic decathlon
w00t suicide!
looks for a knife

[im taking physics b. im taking the C tests in may as well, and since youre taking 7 tests yourself ... i imagine your doing the same.

ah well, cheers.]

Cheers and good luck dude. This'll be an interesting year, that's for sure!

Haha MetdethGNR, I do the same thing. If I get done with my work in class, I look around and see other people playing games online but I open Google Finance.

Good luck everyone!

yeahh....I'm pretty darn busy...and I just find new commitments...

Courseload: 2 APs, but in most difficult year of latin, music and math at my school (I have to write a whole symphony I think as well as a term paper that is like my final grade...).

Commitments: Yearbook, 3-5/6, piano: 1.5 hours/day, reviewing books for library, and volunteering Saturday A.M., also I'm in the process of getting a job at my library, and of taking up organ, also Golf 3-5 days a week in the Fall and Spring, until 6 or 7

Other: SAT I in October-trying to do 5 pages a day in workbook, 2-4 practice tests a week until then, crazy PR homework, and studying for PSAT, I golf like every Saturday and Sunday

Ahh. stressed thinking about it, it isn't much by CC standards, but my school sucks and I mostly go to school, do random unrelated work for teachers, then try to teach myself everything with review books.

To unwind? I read a LOT, and watch a ton of reality television. Also, playing piano is mostly relaxing to me, especially when I'm playing popular music

I know how u feel. senior 5 in school aps, 3 online which started in the summer and unfornately carried over to the school year
school starts 7:30, need to wake up by six to leave early enough for traffic
school out 2:30
clubs (officer in several), late ride, ect.
home ~4:00
shower, eat/TV 30min
start hw, too tired so fall asleep
wake up at 8, finish hw til 11
really, i don't know how i even finish my hw or readings

vicious cycle: since I can't help sleeping in the afternoon, I can't fall asleep at night time, so by the time I fall asleep again at around 1am, its time for school in a few hours and I'm so sleepy throughout the whole day, come home nap, and sleepy cycle continues

lol

"if you were a guy i'd say porn"

-yeah seriously...

I'm taking 7 AP's :-/

i just dropped AP Physics =)

4 AP's now with 5 AP tests ...

seriously, whatever guys its senior yr

I'm taking six.

I'm a Junior and I have 3 AP classes this year. Self-studying two
Wake up at 6:20 a.m.
Shower, get dressed and then eat breakfast
School starts at 8:10
Get out at 3:23 (I know, why the heck is it 3:23?!)
Stay after for either Varsity Golf, DECA, or a few other clubs
Arrive home at either 5:30, 6:30, or later
Have dinner
Do homework
Relax?
Got to sleep at either 10:20 or 11:20

I have a standard schedule which fluxuates a little bit from time to time. Whenever it changes though, I get really ticked off.

This year I have 4 class APs + 5 self study APs. On the side I run my schools tutoring service so I stay after school for at least 1-2 hours every day. In spring I'll be playing varsity baseball as well. I also have to take the PSAT, SAT (maybe twice), ACT (maybe twice), 9 AP exams, 3 SAT2's...

jeez I'm screwed.
