Did you see on the Bob Jones website all of those crazy regulations, but you ARE allowed to bring weapons on campus as long as they are in storage, and oh yeah, pistol locks are required.

actually, it looks like Bob jones university has got the right idea.

"Keep in mind that God's primary purpose for youand ours for you as wellis to see you develop in your likeness and usefulness to Jesus Christ. "

but other than that, they are too strick ><

hahahaha yeah, bring your gun but "Abercrombie & Fitch and its subsidiary Hollister have shown an unusual degree of antagonism to the name of Christ and an unusual display of wickedness in their promotions. In protest, we will not allow articles displaying their logos to be worn, carried, or displayed (even if covered or masked in some way)."

wouldnt you love to just streak through the campus naked with an abercrombie hat and multiple body piercings, jewelry, tangled purple hair, smoking pot, waving the gay flag, and leaving a trail of pornographic pictures behind you?

hilary6, why bring your gun? why do you say that?

just go to the abercrombie and fitch website and you'll see this half naked guy. aren't they trying to sell clothes? why isn't he wearing any? some people just don't think that's right.

the people who go to that school believe that their desire to serve God outweighs the necessity to wear a logo.

You probably didn't read the website tigeruppercut. The website says that guns are allowed as long as they are put in storage and pistols are allowed if they have trigger locks.

She wasn't being anti Christian.

I agree about the serving of God as I live in SC and near Bob Jones. Just read the website before commenting in retort to her.

I've heard Bob Jones University mentioned all over this forum, I didn't think it was actually real. I thought it was just some "name" people used when talking about "generic" schools. Kind of like saying Joe Schmoe Community College.

yeah, I remember my parents used to joke around and say that they would send me there if I didn't behave, I had no idea how bad it was. It seems sexist not letting girls have "boyish haircuts" or wear shorts unless they were working out and not letting guys wear any kind of jewelry at all, not even a stud or some kind of necklace. I love that they can't listen to contemporary christian, jazz or country.... I mean come on.

"we chaperon campus activities where men and women students are present and require a chaperon when students date or interact in a mixed group off campus."
"Students may work in town until 10:25 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends. Freshmen must have a prayer captain, assistant prayer captain, or upperclassman with them."
haha I had more freedom at my Catholic elementary school!

Yeah, BJU actually exists. In my blunt words, BJU is the breeding ground of the American Taliban - religious fundies who have no tolerance for anyone and are scared of their own shadow and who use fear/hate mongering and propaganda to remain in power.

If you read their website about what not to bring to college, you'll see that you can't bring Jazz music (even contemporary Christian music like the Newsboys, who btw are pretty good). But they'll gladly store your gun for you...

BJU denied blacks admission about a decade after segregation was ruled unconstitutional, and they denied interracial dating until the year 2000... 2000!!

That place is scary and as a true and tolerant non-denominational Christian I am ashamed for them to claim their Divine Mandate and to call themselves Christians.

Oh, PS, a Biology degree at BJU is as useful as skis are in the Sahara - they teach creationism, not evolution, as the main facet of biology...

Lol... No G-rated films, no games rated T or above, no contemporary Christian music?
rolls eyes
Why would anyone want to go to somewhere that sounds so much like a concentration camp?

Because they are scared of reality, so since a few lucky guys a long time ago earned a lot of money they started their own little world. It's insane.

My dad is a long haul trucker (works for NEP,Inc. - does national sports events) but he used to haul paper and cars (mostly on the east coast) - he used to go into the "Bible Belt" in America - Tennessee, Kentucky, WV, SC, etc. and he says those people are truly scary. Ever wonder how people could be so stupid to get their 10 year old son arrested protesting the Terri Schiavo case - well, these are the same people who go to BJU - quite bluntly, they are psycho, delusional kool-aid drinkers to the max. Think about it - these people would rather ban gay marriage and live in poverty than vote for the "other guy", who brought the promise of economic development (Kerry of course)
