I received my Oct SAT score, and my CR score was extremely bad, compared to my other two sections.. :/

cr: 670
w: 790
m: 800

Total: 2260

Would it matter that my CR score is absolutely horrendous?!

Stop fretting. UPenn doesn’t determine everything based on SAT scores. They superscore, so if you took other sittings w/ higher CR scores, then the that CR score will be taken.

What do you intend to major in? Hey, no one in the country had a better Math score!

ill go one step higher. no one in the WORLD had better math scores

Some perspective . . in 2008 there were about 10,400 students out of 1.5 million taking the SAT that scored 2260 or higher.

Congrats!!

Kei

You’re exaggerating! 690 in itself is a very good score. Even for an Ivy league school like Penn, it’s fine. At an information session I atteneded, Eric Furda, the Dean of Admissions, said that scores in the high 600s will neither help nor hurt your chance of admissions. Also keep in mind that the middle 50% of Penn’s incoming class scores between 650 and 740, so already your score was better than 25% of Penn students.

Your other two scores are off the charts so you definitely do not need to worry about the SATs. Realize that college admissions counselors care much more about your transcript, your essays, your recommendations, and, most importantly, who you are as a person than your SAT scores. I’ve heard this from numerous people, both at Penn and other prestigious schools.

Best of luck!

sorry i was overreactin and all haha but idk, especially as an international student, I feel like SAT scores would matter alot for me. so I’m not sure…

o, if anyone still cares about this topic, is living in US without a citizenship still considered international??

i talked to penn and no.
but when it comes to financial stuff, then yes
