This might be a stupid question to ask, but can colleges see just how many times a student logs in to their "applicant status" page? Is there some record where a school could see that beniben logged into her NYU Albert site 40 times in one day? Would they get weirded out and assume she's unstable :-P????? Would it show eagerness or creepiness?
Just curious.

It is technically possible. However, it would be a ludicrous practice. No, they have more important things to do; plus, someone could conceivably have a program that checks the status for them every once in a while and alerts them of any changes.

But why check it so often? They don’t have a set decision date?

You’re seriously seriously overthinking this…

I know, I know, but I do check for financ.aid document status, and new tab status…I was just using NYU as an example, I already got into NYU. I’m just a bit eager to see the fin. aid pkg, though after reading all the comments, I’m not expecting too much. and yes, I do realize I’m seriously overthinking all this…but isn’t that (and the anticipation) half the fun?

They’re not going to change your aid or rescind you based on the number of times you log in. Chill.

They don’t really care about those stuffs…

and I thought I was nervous about the whole process…

Wow…40 times a day? I’d think that would reflect positively on you; you seem as if you’re genuinely interested in attending NYU. I’ve actually been worried about the exact opposite situation: that colleges would see that I’ve barely been to their applicant databases (there are a few that I haven’t visited at all), and would therefore assume that I wasn’t interested in the school.

We are more than likely both fine, though.
Admissions officers are far too busy to care about who never checked his/her application status, or who checked it 100 times a day.
