Okay, i know this is going to sound incredibly crazy, but my sister has just been contacted for an admissions interview with Dean Fitzsimmons, the Dean of Admissions at Harvard. This is a private admissions interview, and she is a rising senior so she has not even submitted an application. We have a fairly close relative who is very important to Harvard, but he is not immediately related to us (i.e he is not our father, sibling, or even grandfather).
What does this mean for her admissions chances? Is the fact that Dean Fitzsimmons has personally invited her for an interview at Harvard even before she submitted an application an indicator that she has a very VERY strong chance due to our legacy affiliation? She is a really exemplary applicant, and her scores and ECs are suitable for a harvard application (2270 SAT, 2 800's SAT 2's, leadership galore, great recommendation from an interesting internship, varsity athletics), so she was planning on applying anyway. We are both aware that very few things if any assure acceptance at harvard, but im just curious, does this make her a shoe-in, or does it not mean very much.
Thank you!
