Hey everyone.
I just discovered a big typo on the part of the common app where it asks you to list current year courses. The entire first semester is fine, but the second semester part of one class... Well, it looks like the name of the course was cut off in the middle and replaced with something else? Anyway it's just a bunch of nonsense, and is totally incomprehensible.
However, when I sent my transcripts, I included the common app school form that asks for this same information.
Should I email these colleges and inform them of the error? Send them a new, corrected form? Or assume that they have the transcript copy and not do anything?
Also - will this affect my chances of admission? I don't know how it happened... I print previewed so many times, but I know it makes me look careless.
Thanks.

): has this happened to anyone before? I’m very concerned…

Hey, it kinda happened to me too, I only put my AP and Honors courses. I emailed the colleges that got the bad app and they all said that it was completely fine. They look at the school transcript anyway to see the four years of classes, so if your transcript is correct, you’re golden. Still, email them all immediately, show that you caught it and care.

Additionally, if you want to apply to more colleges, you can make another version of the app and change the typo. I forgot how, but I did it.

They won’t reject you for a tiny typo like that. They might not even catch it, considering they do have your transcript to look at. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Go to “Help” and they have how to make an alternate version. Good luck!

Unfortunately I only caught this after I was totally done submitting… But thanks for the advice! It’s good to know it won’t kill my chances. I’ll be e-mailing the schools now…
Thanks again. (:

Oh GOsh, I totally forgot to put in the second semester!!! What do I do???
